    Medical Disclaimer

    Appy + Yaar · Last updated 24 April 2026

Appy + Yaar is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Always seek the advice of your doctor or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read or been told on this app.

    What this app is

An educational tool to help you understand hormonal and reproductive health and prepare for conversations with your doctor. It translates everyday language into the clinical English your doctor needs, so that no patient is disadvantaged by language barriers or cultural reticence.

    What it is not

    • • Not a diagnostic tool. It will never tell you what condition you have.
    • • Not a prescription service. It does not recommend specific medicines or doses.
    • • Not a replacement for a doctor, fertility specialist, or any qualified healthcare professional.
    • • Not for use in emergencies.

    When to use emergency services

Call 999 if you or someone you know has:

    • • Severe abdominal pain with fainting, dizziness, or very heavy bleeding
    • • Chest pain or shortness of breath
    • • Signs of suicidal intent or self-harm
    • • Any life-threatening medical emergency

Call NHS 111 for urgent but non-emergency medical help.

Samaritans: 116 123, free, 24/7, for anyone in emotional distress.

    Evidence base

Content is informed by NICE guidelines (NG73 for endometriosis, NG3 for diabetes in pregnancy, NG257 for women's health inequalities, CG156 for fertility), HFEA data, peer-reviewed research, and the 2023 International Evidence-Based PCOS Guidelines.

Where we quote statistics, we cite the source. Where evidence is weak or contested, we say so. We do not make promotional or commercial claims about specific treatments, supplements, or brand-name products.

The Ask Appy + Yaar chatbot

The chatbot uses Anthropic's Claude language model. It has been given strict safety rules, not to diagnose, not to prescribe, not to discuss pregnancy management, but it can still make mistakes. Treat anything it says as starting information for a conversation with a qualified clinician, never as the final answer.

If the chatbot gives you information that seems wrong or unsafe, email info@herholistichealth.co.uk so we can investigate.

    Clinical Safety

The app is designed to comply with the MHRA's guidance on non-medical-device health tools. The patient-facing interface never names a condition attached to your own symptoms. The GP Summary output, intended for a clinician, uses clinical English so that your doctor has the information they need.

A Clinical Safety Officer has reviewed the app's safety rails. If you believe the app has caused a patient-safety issue, email info@herholistichealth.co.uk, we take this seriously.
